Our Story

It began as a small farming venture on Hawaiʻi Island through the Kamehameha Schools Mahiʻai Matchup program, where founder Kalisi Mausio experienced firsthand both the promise and challenges of local agriculture. What started with growing a Polynesian agroforest soon led to an exploration into agritourism and the development of Hawaiʻi Farm Trails. During the COVID-19 pandemic, support from Purple Maia and FoundHer helped to open the Community Hub, leading to the official establishment of Onomea Farm Hub in 2021. Today, with support from the County of Hawaiʻi and a growing network of partners, OFH is developing shared agricultural infrastructure and programs that create pathways to market and opportunity for Hawaiʻi's food producers while advancing a future of aina momona.
